Desktop release notes

1.1.6

No more missed posts.

macOS

  • No more missed posts: when your Mac slept or lost its connection, Telegram could skip messages while CrateSync still said "Up to date". CrateSync now reads them, and checks again after a wake, a reconnect and every 15 minutes.
  • The first time 1.1.6 connects, it reads the last 30 days of every group again, once, to catch what was missed. It takes a few minutes (longer if you follow many busy groups), and the status shows "Reading" with the group's name while it runs. Releases it finds show as New.
  • If Telegram holds back a group's newest messages, the status now says "Sync paused" with the group's name instead of "Up to date", and tries again by itself.
  • Settings › Telegram › Sync has a new "Check Recent Messages Again" button, in the row with Sync Now and Import Further Back. It reads the last 30 days again whenever you like.
  • Downloads whose files moved are kept: if your download folder was moved or renamed, or is on a drive that isn't plugged in, CrateSync marks those downloads missing instead of forgetting them. While they're missing they leave Downloaded (and rekordbox.xml, if CrateSync keeps it updated) and play from Telegram, from the groups and bots you follow. They come back by themselves when the drive does.
  • To bring back files you moved, open Downloaded and click Locate… on the banner (or Settings › Downloads › Locate Missing Downloads…), then pick the folder or drive they're in now. CrateSync matches each file by name and size and never moves or changes your files. This works for downloads 1.1.6 kept as missing; ones an earlier version already dropped can't be located.
  • Tracks play and download from the groups and bots you follow; tracks you've downloaded still play from your drive. A track shared only in chats you no longer follow is greyed out with a crossed-out eye; point at the eye to see why. When nothing on a release can play for that reason, Play says so too. Follow one of those chats again to get it back.
  • Faster reconnects after switching Wi-Fi or waking the Mac.
  • Choose Groups and Bots lists every group, even on very large Telegram accounts.
  • Smaller fixes for covers and for libraries moved from another computer.

  • Headphones: playback follows the sound output Windows uses. Unplug or plug in headphones (or switch the output in Windows) and the music carries on where it was, on the new output.
  • The volume slider now changes only CrateSync's sound, never a device's volume in Windows. If a speaker or headphones stayed silent after 1.1.5, turn them back up with the speaker icon by the clock.
  • Faster reconnects after switching Wi-Fi or waking the PC.
  • Choose Groups and Bots lists every group, even on very large Telegram accounts.
  • Smaller fixes for covers, including libraries copied from a Mac.

1.1.5

Sleeves that look after themselves.

macOS

  • Covers repair themselves: if a release's cover picture goes missing, CrateSync downloads it again (or looks for a new one) instead of showing an empty sleeve
  • Track numbers stay right when a file is renamed or re-read: an old position no longer sticks to a track
  • When the same track was shared in several places, CrateSync plays the copy from a group you follow
  • Behind the scenes: small fixes and cleaner housekeeping

Windows

  • Covers repair themselves: if a release's cover picture goes missing, CrateSync downloads it again (or looks for a new one) instead of showing an empty sleeve
  • Track numbers stay right when a file is renamed or re-read: a disc or track number you set yourself is kept
  • When the same track was shared in several places, CrateSync plays the copy from a group you follow
  • Behind the scenes: small fixes and cleaner housekeeping

1.1.4

A more recognizable collection.

Identification favors sources with artwork. Releases without a cover are checked again once, countries read in words, and playlist entries keep their place.

macOS & Windows

1.1.3

Listen sooner. Look closer.

WAV, AIFF, FLAC and MP3 start playing as they arrive. A spectrogram view, much better ZIP/RAR and catalog identification, several groups shown together, and smarter file-to-tracklist matching.

macOS & Windows

1.1.2

Covers come back.

Beatport artwork returns and a Clear All control resets filters. On Windows, covers display correctly at 125, 150 and 200% scaling.

macOS & Windows

1.1.1

Your groups, your choice.

Follow any groups, channels and bots you choose, and filter by group, label, style or genre.

macOS

1.1

A new look and a DJ player.

Releases in sleeves, a persistent player with a queue, pitch ±8/±16% with Key Lock, BPM and key, more record-shop links, ZIP/RAR albums, music bots and a shared-date filter.
